Born in a downtown hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, I lived in rural Indiana until the age of 5 when my family moved to Universal City, Texas. Singing was one of the first loves of my life, and when I began to experience illnesses that impacted my ability to sing starting in the tenth grade, my world slowly started to unravel. Navigating through a mysterious illness after returning from a trip to Cambridge University in England the summer before my sophomore year at Texas Tech University was my rock bottom, until it wasn't. When I found out I would be debuting at Carnegie Hall at the age of twenty-one (I initially thought it was spelled Carnagie... lol), all I could feel was the terror and weight of such a massive performance when I could barely sing for more than twenty minutes. Over a decade later, a week-long stay at a mental health facility after I couldn't cope with environmental illness any longer, to entering treatment for help with addictions that I couldn't solve on my own, my greatest achievements have happened at my lowest points. Join me as I share my story on realizing who I am: a gay man who has been on his healing journey for roughly two decades and discovering I am so much more than my singing voice.
